Implementation of individualized treatment with a unique ability to address mental health disorders and developmental disorders through evidence based practices.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

Our Therapeutic Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of psychological treatment  that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems  including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders and severe mental illness.

CBT is based on several core principles, including:

  1. Psychological problems are based, in part, on faulty or unhelpful ways of thinking.
  2. Psychological problems are based, in part, on learned patterns of unhelpful behavior.
  3. People suffering from psychological problems can learn better ways  of coping with them, thereby relieving their symptoms and becoming more  effective in their lives.

CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to  real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and  decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning.

Applied Behavior Analysis helps to understand:

  • How behavior works
  • How behavior is affected by the environment
  • How learning takes place

Applied Behavior Analysis can help:

  • Increase language and communication skills
  • Improve attention, focus, social skills, memory, and academics
  • Decrease problem behaviors

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

DBT is an evidence-based psychotherapy that is utilized to treat personality disorders and interpersonal conflicts.

DBT can be useful in treating:

  • Mood disorders
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Changing behavioral patterns such as self-harm and substance use

DBT combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness largely derived from contemplative meditative practice.
