Trauma & PTSD Support

Trauma & PTSD Therapy in Bala Cynwyd & Philadelphia

Trauma can affect the way you feel, think, and move through the world — even long after an experience has passed. You may feel on edge, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that are difficult to explain. For many people, trauma impacts relationships, sleep, confidence, and the ability to feel safe in everyday life.

At Behavior & Counseling Center, we provide supportive, individualized outpatient therapy for adults and teens navigating trauma, PTSD, and the lasting effects of difficult experiences.

When Trauma Doesn’t Feel “In the Past”

Trauma and PTSD can show up in many ways, including:

  • intrusive memories or nightmares
  • feeling constantly on guard or easily startled
  • anxiety, panic, or emotional overwhelm
  • avoidance of reminders or certain situations
  • numbness, disconnection, or difficulty trusting others
  • irritability, shame, or feeling stuck

If any of this feels familiar, you are not alone — and healing is possible.

Specialized, Evidence-Based PTSD Treatment

Our practice offers trauma-informed care grounded in approaches that are strongly supported by research. We are proud to provide Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, one of the most effective and well-studied treatments for PTSD.

Our clinical director has completed Prolonged Exposure certification through the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), a nationally recognized leader in trauma treatment and research.

PE Therapy is considered a gold-standard treatment for PTSD and has been shown to help many individuals experience meaningful relief beyond what medication management alone can provide.
